Performance Management for Executives
Act 377 of the 2009 Louisiana legislative session requires certain unclassified officials
to
participate in a two part educational program within one year of their employment
or
appointment. The two areas stipulated are performance management and hiring and
termination.
This video addresses the performance management component of the legislative
requirement. The following topics addressed in this presentation are:
- The basic role and responsibilities of the Appointing Authority in the statewide
Performance, Planning and Review (PPR) program used to assess the
performance of classified employees.
- The phases of the PPR process and the related responsibilities of the rating
supervisor
- Options and best practices that exist to customize the PPR process to better
align it with agency goals and objectives
