Insurance
Health in general and health insurance in particular is often the last thing on a
students' mind. Accidents and illnesses do happen to even the most careful, robust
student. If you do not currently have medical insurance coverage, there is an optional
student health insurance plan you may purchase. This policy is written for Southeastern
Louisiana University students and is available through a private company.
Brochures can be obtained from the Health Center or the School of Nursing. We
strongly urge you to maintain insurance coverage for the sake of your health and your
financial stability.
All international students must have proof of insurance that meets or exceeds
requirements set forth by Southeastern Louisiana University. For further information about

The health insurance carrier for the 2006-2007 school term is administered by Student
Assurance Services Incorporated, Underwritten by Columbian Life Insurance Company.
