Immunizations

Louisiana Law requires immunization against Measles, Mumps, & Rubella (MMR) for all
students born after 1956.Immunization against tetanus/diphtheria (Td) is required for all
students regardless of age.
In 2006 the Louisiana State Legislature enacted revised statute (RS 17:170.1) which
requires that each first time freshmen provide proof of immunization against
meningococcal meningitis. Southeastern Louisiana University has thoroughly reviewed
these requirements and determined that it is in the best interest of the student
and University to require the meningococcal vaccine of all applicants.
Southeastern Louisiana University requires the following immunizations prior to admission:
-- Two measles vaccines/ one mumps/ one rubella; vaccine is usually documented as
an
MMR. If you have 2 MMR’s you are in compliance.
-- One Tetanus (Td or TDap) vaccine that was obtained within the last 10 years.
-- A meningitis vaccine is required of all students applying for admission, regardless
of
prior enrollment.
