The College Panhellenic Council
Every woman who joins a Panhellenic sorority also becomes a member of the College Panhellenic Council. The College Panhellenic Council is the governing body for the five National Panhellenic Conference sororities on campus and unities their members regardless of affiliation. Panhellenic works to make the Greek community a positive influence on campus and in the community. Each member is responsible for promoting scholarship, philanthropy, personal growth, safety, and campus involvement amongst sorority members.
Why Should You Join a Panhellenic Sorority?
Academics! The sororities at Southeastern value the importance of education, and they illustrate their commitment by encouraging thier members to excel academically. Many of the chapters offer scholarships and grants to members who show a deep commitment to thier studies. All chapters posses resources and facilities that support high academic achievement and hold thier members accountable to scholastic success. In fact, the all sorority average is higher than the all-woman average at Southeastern.
Leadership! It has been proven that students who are involved on campus will have a happier college expereince and get higher grades. Sororities agree! Being a member of a sorority will give you the chance to refine your leadership ability. There is ample opportunity to practice and improve your organization, time management, event planning, and budgeting skills. Not only will you graduate with experiences to fill your resume', you will have learned communication and management skills that you can use throughout your life.
Community Service! Whether you enjoy philanthropic activities or community service, being Greek will make it easy for you to give time and service to organizations both locally and nationally. Southeastern sorority woman play an active role in a variety of projects where you will be able to share your skills and interests with others.
Social Development & Special Events! Greek organizations sponsor activities and attend campus events with lots of spirit! As a Greek, you will be able to help plan annual greek functions: Greek Week, Homecoming, formals, chapter retreats, and other exciting events. You will also have many opportunities to partcipate in special campus events like Intramural sports, Orientation Leaders, and the Southeastern Leadership Conference.
