Disability Services Staff
Kay Harrison Maurin, Director
Mrs. Maurin is the Director of Disability Services. She is a National Certified Counselor and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University. She also holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Louisiana State University. She is a member of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and the Louisiana Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators (LACUSPA).
Leigh Smith-Vaniz, Coordinator
Ms. Smith-Vaniz joined the Office of Disability Services in the Fall of 2009 as the Coordinator. She holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Personnel and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Mississippi. Ms. Smith-Vaniz has various experiences in student affairs including Disability Services, Career Services, and Student Conduct.
Heather Langston, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Langston joined the Office of Disability Services in the Spring 2012 as the Administrative Assistant. She holds a Bachelors of General Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Britney Romito, Graduate Assistant
Ms. Romito is currently working on her Master of Arts in Teaching degree which will certify her to teach grades 1st-5th. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Management with a concentration in Accessible Recreation from Southern Virginia University. She is responsible for overseeing the Alternative Format program which converts textbooks into electronic formats.
