Getting Started
As a faculty member new to the University, learning your way around can be challenging. The following information will assist you with both the physical and electronic navigation of your new surroundings!
| ID - Upon employment at Southeastern, you are issued an identification number, otherwise
known as the "W" number. Your "W" number will appear on your Southeastern ID card
which is required to use many University resources (Shuttle, library, Student Activity
Center). You can obtain your ID from the Campus Card Operations office located on
North campus in the Main Building, Room 223, Ext. 3990. You will need to explain that
you are a new faculty member and present proper photo identification, as well as the
authorization slip provided by Human Resources. Please plan to have your photo taken
for the ID card. Your “W” number will also be used to login to a variety of online resources (see below). All of these are authenticated with the same "W" number and password. |

LEONet, Linking Effectively Online, houses Southeastern’s Administrative system. This system will be used to certify your time for payroll and also provides faculty access to student records, class schedules, grade rosters, grade reports, etc. Read more at http://www.selu.edu/leonet/index.html

E-mail Once you have signed your hiring paperwork in Human Resources, your information is automatically sent to the Help Desk of the Office of Technology, ext. 5555, and your account is set up using an "alias" address of Firstname.Lastname@selu.edu.
University e-mail policy reads (in part) as follows, "[Faculty] Uses of non-Southeastern e-mail addresses for communication with students regarding University business or educational matters are not acceptable...." In compliance with this policy, please use SLU email addresses when communicating with your students. You may view the complete policy at link to email policy goes here once it changes from www2.
E-mail and the Emergency Alert System - Southeastern operates a cell phone text messaging and e-mail alert system to notify faculty, staff and students of any emergencies on campus. Please register for this service by going to Southeastern’s Webmail page or at www.alertregistration.com/southeastern/.

Parking - All faculty who operate and park a motor vehicle on campus must properly display a current parking hang-tag or decal on their vehicle, and must be parked in a designated parking space. Faculty/Staff parking is designated by RED signs and curbs. Visit the University Parking Department located in Pride Hall at 1301 SGA Drive to obtain your hang-tag or decal.
*You may pay by the year ($45.00) or by the semester ($15.00 for Fall).
