Center for Student Excellence
The Center for Student Excellence (CSE) is designed to provide:
1.) Academic Advising and Career Exploration assistance for freshmen and sophomores.
2.) Learning Assistance for students in the form of Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction.
All incoming freshmen must meet with an academic advisor in the Center for Student Excellence for their first two semesters or until they complete 30 credit hours, whichever comes first. During that time, you will complete an academic map, select and register for classes and explore career possibilities as needed.
The Center for Student Excellence is also available to ALL students of ANY classification for assistance with exploring college majors or occupational opportunities, or for learning assistance in their classes
General Studies
The Division of General Studies offers classes in Career Planning.
CPL 104 - Dazed and confused about your future? Wondering what jobs are possible with a certain college major? CPL 104, taught by licensed career counselors, will help you examine your interests and abilities, research career opportunities, and ultimately make a wise MAJOR decision.
CPL 304 - Ready for the world of work? CPL 304 will prepare you! This course assists seniors in the transition from college to the workplace. Students complete self-assessment inventories, develop skills in interdisciplinary networking, and use the latest technology to learn job search, job application and interviewing strategies.
Work-Study Office
For those undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in a job on-campus, you must go through the Work-Study Office in the Financial Aid Department.
Work-study is designed to provide part-time employment to undergraduate and graduate students who need income to supplement the costs of post-secondary education and related expenses.

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies
Graduate Assistantships pay students a stipend plus a full tuition waiver and are available for students enrolled in Southeastern's College of Research and Graduate Studies. Four types of Graduate Assistantships are offered at Southeastern: Administrative Assistants, Research Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and Graduate Teaching Fellows.
