Cancellation / No Show Policy
Student or alumni cancellations and no-shows are not acceptable and are not tolerated. By submitting your resume for an on-campus interview, you have made a commitment to the employer, Career Services, and yourself. Not following through with that commitment is a poor reflection on you, our office and the University. Therefore, the Office of Career Services maintains a “no excuses” and “zero tolerance” policy.
It is your responsibility to research an employer and their posted position PRIOR to applying for an interview (not AFTER you have applied). There are resources within eRecruiting to assist you with this research. When you apply for an on-campus interview, it should be with the certainty that you are interested in interviewing with that employer.
When you are accepted by an employer for the on-campus interview to which you have applied, it is expected that you will go into eRecruiting and sign up for an interview time slot. If for some reason you ABSOLUTELY cannot attend the interview, it is your responsibility to “withdraw” your application. AND it is further expected that you will communicate with Career Services (985-549-2121) as to WHY you are withdrawing your application.
If you: 1.) do not select an interview time slot 2.) call to cancel your interview five days or less prior to the interview date or 3.) are a “no-show” for an interview, you will NOT be allowed to utilize Career Services again until you have met with one of Career Services’ professional staff regarding your absence. Further, without a documented and legitimate excuse, as determined by CS Staff, your privilege to use our services may be revoked indefinitely or permanently.
NOTE: Information regarding all On-Campus Interviews will be provided to you from Career Services via email. It is important to make sure that the email address you have listed in eRecruiting is accurate and an email that you use frequently. We suggest using your University issued email address.
There may be instances where spam filters prohibit your ability to receive emails sent by Career Services in eRecruiting. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with the status of your On-Campus Interview applications by checking them in eRecruiting. Not having received an email from the Office of Career Services is not an acceptable excuse for not signing up for an interview time.
