Out-of-State Students



 

Southeastern Louisiana University offers fee waivers for out-of-state students who are beginning freshman or transferring to Southeastern.

 

Out-of-state tuition fees range from $888 for students registered for four credit hours to $2,664 for full-time students taking twelve or more hours.  These fees are paid in addition to the university's regular tuition.  The following fee waivers are being offered to students who qualify:

 

Fee Waiver for Non-Residents

 

Southeastern Louisiana University offers fee waivers for non-resident students.  The fee waiver does not cover the University's regular tuition and fees, only the additional out-of-state fees charged to students who are not a resident of Louisiana.

 

The fee waiver scholarships will be available to students meeting the following criteria:

 

Non-resident first-time freshmen (under 12 credits of college level work completed):
American College Test (ACT) composite score of 21(or equivalent SAT)
Cumulative high school GPA of 2.25 or higher
No developmental course requirements

 

 

 

 

 

 

Transfer students (have completed at least 12 credits of course work):
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 on college level work
No developmental course requirements

 

 

 

 

*NOTE: The following categories of students are not eligible for the waiver: Graduate students; other students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree; international students; and currently enrolled non-resident students who enrolled prior to the effective date of this scholarship (Summer 2002).

 

 

Non-Resident Fee Waiver for Teacher Education Majors

 

Southeastern's Non-Resident Fee Waiver for Teacher Education Majors is being offered to qualified students who are not residents of Louisiana.  Southeastern is implementing this fee waiver program for a two-year trial period beginning with the Spring 2002 semester in January.  The fee waiver does not cover the University's regular tuition and fees, only the additional out-of-state fees charged to students who are not a resident of Louisiana.

 

The fee waiver scholarships will be available to students meeting the following criteria:

 

Non-resident freshmen and transfer students with less than 30 hours:

A minimum American College Test (ACT) composite score of 21
OR
Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT) score of 970

No developmental course requirements

 

 

 

 


 

Transfer students with 30 hours or more:
A 2.5 grade point average
Must have passed the PRAXIS Series (the assessment required by colleges and universities for entry into teacher education programs)
No developmental course requirements

 

 

 

 

 

 

To remain eligible for the scholarship, students must:

  • Continue to major in education and
  • Meet both the university and it's College of Education and Human Development's progression and retention requirements.
