What is Orientation?

Orientation studentsWhat do you get when you mix a group of Purple Parisians with the Orange Sherbets?  How about the Yellow Banana Ramas with the Green Double Mint Twins?  Give up?  Well, you get a whole lot of fun and an idea of what it’s like to be a part of Southeastern’s Summer Orientation programs.

Each summer, Southeastern hosts a series of orientation programs, inviting students who have been accepted for the upcoming fall term to get a jump on their transition to college.  The program is filled with informative and fun activities that introduce students and their families to college life and the great programs Southeastern has to offer.

Students are assigned to small groups with student Orientation Leaders to experience college life first hand and to learn what it takes to be successful at Southeastern.  From policies and procedures to meeting with faculty advisors and registering for classes, participants get a crash course in College 101.

Don’t worry; it’s not all work and no play.  Scheduled activities also include an outdoor barbeque , spirit competition, wacky games, and Late Night Orientation - an evening of music, dancing, food and fun.

Family members, we think you are just as important as your student.  A separate program designed just for you will explain the ends and outs of college life and help answer any of your questions or concerns.
