The Mission of OPERATIONS is to be the hub of all information processing, to provide the highest reliability thus ensuring minimum downtime within the data center, while maintaining the highest degree of security for all data.


This is the place where students, faculty, and staff go to get their passwords reset.  (You must report to the I/O window in McClimans Hall)

 

Employees in this division monitor online system; perform onsite and offsite system saves and backups; restore files; trouble shoot users problems and assist users in correcting their problems; perform start and restart procedures; setup and prepare equipment and procedures for processing according to defined specifications; keep logs of all work run and maintain schedules that are critical especially during student registration and grade report periods; maintain physical tapes including testing, cleaning, verifying, scratching or adding tapes to the system; perform start/restart procedures; monitor the computer room environment and respond to keep it within specifications; constantly study advances or changes in operational procedures and learn new procedures as they are implemented; maintain a daily report of our problems and activities. This report informs other operators and employees of various areas of the department of Technology.
