High School Career Workshop-Movie Making
Grades 9-12
June 15, 2009 - June 19, 2009 9 am - 4 pm
5 Day Workshop- M-F Two locations! Mandeville or Walker

Do you see yourself filming on location, whether behind or in front of the camera, scripting, editing and directing? If so, get ready to zoom into one of Louisiana’s most dynamic industries! The film and movie making sector has contributed to Louisiana’s economy by growing 81% since 2005, and Louisiana currently ranks third in the country behind California and New York in the number of films produced. Southeastern Louisiana University offers a unique opportunity to learn about movie making without leaving Louisiana. This innovative program is a week long workshop taught by seasoned professionals.
Zoom into Movie Making provides hands-on experience and exposure to the movie and new media industry from pre to post production. Using digital cameras and editing in our computer labs, participants will learn to create a finished multimedia piece. On the final day of the workshop, Southeastern rolls out the red carpet, including interviews from the Emmy award-winning Southeastern Channel, studio tours and a grand finale showcase of final productions for participants, family and friends. Southeastern’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Division of Extended Studies and the Southeastern Channel welcome you to this exciting workshop!
