About Veterans Upward Bound
About the Program
Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a program sponsored by the U.S.
Department of Education. Upward Bound provides fundamental support
to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The
program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in
pre-college performance and ultimately in higher education
pursuits. Veterans Upward Bound low-income, first-generation
military veterans who are preparing to enter
postsecondary education. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase
the rates at which Veterans enroll in and graduate from
institutions of postsecondary education.
All services are provided FREE to eligible veterans. Participating veterans also receive a stipend of up to $40.00 per month. This stipend is prorated according to the number of scheduled sessions/classes veterans attend.
