SSS Workshops on Blackboard
Would like to complete a workshop using the blackboard system?
Student Support Services now has a Blackboard on-line site that SSS participants can
login and view along with their other classes. With SSS on Blackboard, participants will be
allowed to complete a workshop using the Blackboard system. Here are the steps to get
credit for the workshop using Blackboard.
1. Choose from the list below of the SSS workshops available this semester on the
Blackboard system.
2. Contact your counselor and let them know which workshop you will complete using
the Blackboard system.
3. Enter the Blackboard system during the week the selected workshop is available,
and complete the 3 activities for the workshop (you will not receive credit for the
workshop if all 3 steps are not completed).
To get into blackboard to access the 3 activities to complete the workshop, you
must:
1. Login to the Blackboard system with you w# and password.
2. Select the Student Support Services course under the list of courses.
The first activity is a workshop pre-test to be completed before the
workshop. To complete it, you must go to Course Documents and
select the pre-test for the desired workshop and complete the shor
evaluation.
The second activity is the actual workshop. It is located in th
activities folder. When you select the link for the workshop, a box
appears asking what do you want to do with the file. Select 'Open'
and the workshop will appear in the screen. It is in Microsoft
PowerPoint format, so you can control it using you left and right
arrows on your keyboard.
Once completed, you need to return to the Course Documents and
complete the third activity, the post-evaluation of the workshop.
4. Notify your counselor that you have completed the workshop on the Blackboard
system.
And that's it. All the announcements for the Blackboard Workshops will be available in the
Announcements on the Blackboard System.
