Who is Eligible for NSA credit courses?

Pre-Registration Deadline: May 15, 2009
Admission:
- Admission to the Northshore School of the Arts for high school juniors and seniors is by audition for applied music courses; by interview for theatre courses; by portfolio review for studio art courses; and by a minimum of a 3.0 average in high school music/art classes for music theory and art history courses respectively.
Application Procedure:
- Submit to the Northshore School of the Arts, Southeastern Louisiana University, SLU 10388, Hammond, LA 70402:

A completed Application Form

A $20 application fee (check payable to NSA Southeastern)

A copy of high school transcripts (if not available, a copy of high school report cards will suffice)

For Studio Art Courses: 4 pieces of artwork, completed independently by the applicant: 2 representational drawings from life, and 2 creative or conceptual works in other media.
Music Auditions & Theatre Interviews:
- Theatre Interviews and Music Auditions for private/small group classes in piano, voice, string instruments, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, and percussion will be scheduled after pre-registration is complete. Applicants will be contacted for specific audition date and location information.
University Credit:
- Students who complete Northshore School of the Arts classes with a minimum of C-level work and meet any other academic departmental requirements for university course credit will be awarded credit with a grade of “P” (Pass) for articulated Southeastern Louisiana University courses upon enrollment at Southeastern. (Application to Southeastern must be made separately, as do applications to become Music majors.)
