Math Science Upward Bound



The Southeastern Louisiana University's Upward Bound Math & Science  Center is a federally funded TRIO program designed to prepare 69 eligible high school students for successful admission into and completion of post-secondary degree programs that will lead to careers in mathematics and/or science.


This program assists students in the development of critical thinking, scientific, and analytical skills. Students will be given the opportunity to work in various laboratory environments, will be given hands-on computer experience and will be provided the opportunity to receive college credit in freshman math and science courses.

 

Applicants must be currently enrolled in the 9th or 10th grade in a school in Tangipahoa Parish and have at least have a 2.5 GPA and at least a 2.0 GPA  in math and science classes. Applicants must be potential first generation college students and/or must meet federal guidelines for low-income families.


The Math-Science Upward bound Program has both an academic year that now consist of academic year Saturday sessions and a six-week summer residential component. Please click on the links above to view the curriculum and activities for each component.
