Curriculum

Curriculum



The academic year curriculum is composed of monthly academic and career-oriented assignments, workshops on financial aid assistance, personal and career counseling, and ACT/SAT testing information and/or interaction using the Internet and the World Wide Web. All information and assignments are made available through the Math- Science web page allowing students to get assignments, submit homework, send lab reports, and take quizzes online. Students who participate in the academic year program will receive a stipend in the amount of $15.00 per month (active Upward Bound students cannot receive a stipend from there home Upward Bound and from Math-Science Upward Bound). The stipends will be disbursed in December and May of each academic year.



Summer Program



 

Rising Sophomores
All rising sophomores are placed in the following classes:

  • Biology
  • Geometry
  • English II 
  • Foreign Language
  • ACT Preparation 

Rising Juniors
All rising juniors are placed in the following classes:
  • Algebra II
  • English III
  • Chemistry
  • Foreign Language
  • Scientific Research & Mentoring

Rising Seniors
  • College Algebra 161
  • College Transition Math 092
  • College English 092
  • College Chemistry 121

Bridge Students
College Credit Courses
Students entering their freshman year in college will be enrolled in up to 9 credit hours of college courses during the summer component.
