Question 1

Standard 7 Focus Question 1

What is the process for continuous improvement used by the school and what are the results that this process is delivering for student performance and school effectiveness?

  • Our mission is to provide the highest quality of teaching and learning so that all students can do their best. In order to facilitate this goal, we are committed to utilizing our strengths and correcting our weaknesses.

  • Following the updating of our school improvement plan, we begin the process of school improvement by compiling the data from standardized test scores, surveys, student homework, parental concerns, and student requests to determine the instructional strategies and curriculum decisions needed to meet revealed weaknesses.

  • We have discovered that we need to focus more attention on the state’s comprehensive curriculum as well as make sure we teach each GLE.  Although our test scores are high, there is always room for improvement.  We believe once we redirect our lesson plans, we will be able to improve student performance, thus making our school more effective.

  • In addition to academic improvement, teachers also recognize the importance of continuous improvement in attending professional development.  Areas such as classroom management, school climate, student needs, and technology will also improve the delivery of lessons resulting in an increase in student performance.
