Question 2

Standard 4 Question 2

What are you doing to ensure that assessment results are timely, relevant, and communicated in a way that can be used by teachers, students, parents, and external stakeholders to aid the performance of individual students?

  • As stated in question one, teachers receive test scores immediately after administration reviews them.  Teachers use these scores to analyze their teaching practices.  However, at the end of the year, teachers receive their incoming students test scores.  Teachers use this data to see their incoming student’s strengths and weaknesses so they can adapt their upcoming lessons appropriately.

  • Parents also receive their child’s tests scores prior to the end of the year.  This has allowed many of our parents the opportunity to have their child tutored during the summer in hope of helping their child master a topic they may have received basic or below in on the LEAP or iLEAP.  As a stakeholder the university offers summer remediation programs in reading for students in the parish.  We provide parents of students who scored poorly on the LEAP, iLEAP, or on their report card information about these summer programs in hopes they will allow their child to attend.  The programs are held at our school throughout the summer.

  • Stakeholders receive information about our test scores via the local newspaper, assess to the state’s website, and as a link from the parish’s website.  As you look at the artifacts for this standard you will notice that our school has been featured several times as a result of our test scores.
