Question 1

Standard 1:  Focus Question 1

What is the process for establishing and building understanding of and commitment to the vision statement among stakeholders?

  • In order to communicate our vision to our stakeholders, we engage our stakeholders in a collaborative process.  This process includes but is not limited Fraiser and Momto a school web page, weekly all-call/email messages to parents and stakeholders (this is a system in which we notify parents by phone and email about upcoming events) beginning of the year Open House activities, Back To School Bashes, individual parent class meetings, each class has a room mom who keeps the other parents informed, and we also have a flat screen TV in which we frequently update with school information.

  • The PTO organization is very active in helping the school achieve its vision as well.  The school works collaboratively with PTO about the faculty and staffs vision for the school, as well as to listen to the vision the PTO would like the school to actualize.  PTO funded over $10,000 in vision related projects for the school.

  • Community stakeholders also joined in the process by announcing school events via radio and print, donating supplies and gifts for school events, and by offering financial and/or physical assistance when asked.  Lastly we worked with Tangipahoa Parish School District by submitting our School Improvement Plan annually to the Board so they could see the curriculum we use to achieve our vision.
