Conclusion Focus Question 1
As you review your responses to the standards, what major trends, themes, or areas of focus emerge that cut across the seven standards?
- Based on test scores and surveys we are doing a great job with our students. We have great stakeholder support. Our parents are active, involved, contentious, and available. The university is our oyster and the faculty and staff at the school are dedicated professionals.
- As we reviewed each of the themes we noticed our parents are active in each of the seven themes. No wonder our kids do so well on the LEAP and iLEAP. When you have parents in every classroom almost everyday, your scores can’t help but be high.
- We realized how special our school is to have immediate access to university personnel and college students. Our after-school program is free to our students because we are able to use college students as our tutors. Ninety-five percent of the time all of our computers work because we have access to university technicians.
- Lastly, we realized we have to spend more time, energy, effort, and resources on science and social studies. Until we saw our trend data, we did not realize the effect of spending so much time on reading and math would have on these two very important disciplines.
