Spend 10 days near the beautiful capital city, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, a city nestled in a beautiful mountain valley and experience hands-on work with local health practitioners and patients. This program is designed to deepen your understanding of cultural diversity and the relationship between culture and health issues.
You will be introduced to differences and commonalities among health care systems abroad, while being given the opportunity to apply your practical nursing skills, assess the impact of international and global political and economic issues on health care systems, enhance your multicultural and international experience, and consider the professional nurse's role in safeguarding the human environment internationally.
Students will observe the health challenges faced by developing societies through practicum activities in a variety of healthcare settings, including clinics, hospitals, and orphanages.
There will be plenty of time for cultural excursions! Tegucigalpa's new commercial center, "La Zona Viva", includes shops, restaurants, and offices. Beautiful churches museums, and parks are an important tourist attractions!
