Residence in Jouars-Pontchartrain

For several years, there has been an exchange between students of English in the Jouars-Pontchartrain area and Southeastern students.  This time, Southeastern students will spend one week with host families in Hammond's twin city in France:  Jouars-Pontchartrain.  These are high school students, 16 to 19 years old, who study under the English teacher, Michéle Rollin, at the Violet le Duc High School in Villiers-St-Frédéric.  You will get a chance to meet some of them when they come to Hammond in February 2009 for 10 days.  Southeastern students tend to be apprehensive about staying with host families but they end up totally loving it.  French families go out of their way to show you the best of their country:  food, cultural visits, and just fun with other young students!  This experience turns out to be one of the highlights of the trip for our Southeastern students!
