Sean Kerrigan receives Man of the Year Award and Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship
“As a pre-medical student seeking Biology and English majors, I had the opportunity to participate in different modes of thinking about the world, an exercise that I found both liberating and necessary for my personal development; however, it was the Honors Program that became my map when trying to figure out how these different pieces of the puzzle fit together. My experiences as a budding student in honors courses helped me see how the worlds of science and art could co-exist, and I joined to the best of my ability with fellow honors students to try and spread the word about the program and its role as a sanctuary for young minds.”
Sean Patrick Kerrigan, selected Southeastern Man of the Year for 2003-2004, also is a recipient of a National Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship. Sean is one of 60 students annually receiving this $5,000 award from the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He is currently studying medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
