Southeastern provides a large number of assistantships that pay a stipend of $2,200 per regular semester ($1,100 per summer term), plus full waiver of all in-state and out-of-state tuition.
Scholarly and Research Opportunities
Southeastern is located within an hour's driving distance of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, affording our graduate students the opportunity to use the excellent research facilities at Tulane, LSU, and the University of New Orleans.
In addition to our excellent library, we have a number of research facilities for students, including:
• The Center for Regional Studies has a large collection of materials pertaining to the history and culture of southeast Louisiana.
• Turtle Cove Marine Biology Research Station offers opportunities for research into the unique ecological environment of the southeast Louisiana swamps and bayous.
• The Small Business Development Center assist the economic development of the state's fastest growing region.
The University has excellent opportunities for research in Nursing, Teacher Education, Psychology, Music, Special Education, and other areas.
