Introduction to Welding

 

Course Overview:

If you are interested in learning hands-on welding, this course will provide you with an introduction to safety and the setup of oxyfuel and SMAW (stick) equipment. Students will work in the flat position using plain carbon steel. Also included will be an introduction to GMAW.

 

*Students must provide personal protective equipment, including safety glasses (ANSI Z87), welding shirt, jeans, leather shoes/boots, and welding
gloves and cap.

 

This course involves a basic introduction to welding, including:

  • Oxy-Acetylene cutting
  • welding
  • shielding metal arc welding
  • safety
  • setup
  • hands-on welding of mild steel

 

Cost: $325
Materials: provided except for personal protective equipment (see above)
