Course Overview:

 

This non-academic, all ages, beginner's course puts you behind the "harp," playing blues, rock, and country style by the end of the first session. Theory is kept to the essentials, with emphasis on practical techniques such as hand positioning, tongue-blocking and lip-pursing, exploring simple melodies, theory of blues, rock, and country styles, with a class performance of basic blues.

Preferred instrument - Lee Oscar, major diatonic in C, Acceptable - Hohner harmonica, major diatonic, key of C*

*Approximately $35. The brand preferred by the instructor is the Lee Oscar major diatonic in C. They are available at most music stores, but call ahead in case they need to order.  Cheaper harmonicas are available but not recommended, since they are usually inferior and difficult to play.
