The Deep Delta Civil War Symposium is an annual event sponsored by the Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies and the Department of History and Political Science at Southeastern Louisiana University. Each year the Deep Delta Civil War Symposium brings together leading authorities on the War Between the States to share their latest research with Southeastern Louisiana University students and the general public. This event is usually scheduled for the second weekend of June.

 

2006 Marks the TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY of the Deep Delta Civil War Symposium!

On June 9 and 10, 2006, the Center and the Department of History and Political Science at Southeastern Louisiana University presented the TWENTIETH ANNUAL DEEP DELTA CIVIL WAR SYMPOSIUM at the War Memorial Student Union Theater at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. The theme of this year's symposium was:

"THE DECISIVE FACTOR"
