Fall and Spring Terms

During the fall and spring semesters, students seeking learning assistance should apply for regularly-scheduled appointments in Southeastern Hall, Room 114. The Learning Assistance Lab is open in Southeastern Hall, Room 114, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications will be accepted during the week before classes begin, and all sessions will end with the last week of class.

Sessions

Students are scheduled for one 45-minute session per week, unless otherwise approved by the Coordinator, and will be placed in small groups of those with the same instructor in order to serve more students. It is important that students come prepared with necessary materials and attempted homework.

Attendance Policy

There is an attendance policy in place. Students are asked to contact the Center in advance at 985.549.2434 or by email at learningassistance@selu.edu if there is a conflict and they cannot attend. If no contact is made, the appointment is considered a "no-show". With three no-shows, all appointments in that subject will be cancelled for the balance of the semester. Excessive cancelled sessions will also result in appointments being cancelled.

Summer Term

During the summer semester, walk-in tutoring services are offered Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in Southeastern Hall, Room 114. Students will be able to work with the tutor on a first-come, first-served basis and for an unspecified amount of time. Tutors may be assisting several students as needed in different courses at the same time. To locate available courses and times, see the following list.
