Scheduled Appointment Tutoring
Limited appointments are available Monday through Thursday on a first-come first-served basis, 8:00am to 5:00 pm. Appointments can be scheduled for two-weeks or the balance of the semester depending upon tutor availability. Applications for tutoring appointments are available in Southeastern Hall, Room 114 beginning the first day of classes. Weekly sessions will be held through the last week of classes in Southeastern Hall, Room 114.
Students are scheduled for one 45-minute session per week unless otherwise approved by the Coordinator. In order to serve more students, students will be placed in small groups of students with the same instructor. Appointment notification is sent via university email. It isimportant that students come prepared with necessary materials, attempted homework, and questions.
Scheduled Appointment Attendance Policy
There is an appointment attendance policy in place. Students are asked to contact the Center in advance at 985.549.2434 or by email at learningassistance@selu.edu if there is a conflict and they cannot attend. However, after a total of three missed sessions (whether cancelled or no-show), all appointments will be cancelled in that course for the balance of the semester. An attendance policy reminder will be sent after two absences.
Drop-in Tutoring
Drop-in tutoring for some math, chemistry, and physics courses will be available on Fridays only, 8:00am to 12:00pm. As during the summer terms, students will be able to work with the tutor on a first-come, first-served basis and for an unspecified amount of time with the understanding that tutors may be assisting several students in different courses concurrently.
