Hiring Qualifications and Requirements:

Sophomore standing when beginning to work
Cumulative 3.0 GPA
Earned grade of A or B in courses under consideration
Course content-competency to be determined by academic departments; requirements may vary by department
High level of interpersonal and communication skills to be determined by Learning Assistance Coordinator
Demonstrated history of customer service and helping characteristics
Previous tutoring/mentoring experience preferred
Ability to tutor in multiple subject areas preferred
Native speakers may be limited to courses in their native language
Participation in departmental trainings is required

- Notice: Individual peer-staff schedules are set prior to the beginning of the semester for tutoring and on the first day of the SI class for SI leaders. Southeastern's student employee handbook limits U.S. students to 25 hours a week and international students to 20 hours.
