About Art + Design
The mission of the Southeastern Louisiana University Department of Fine and Performing Art's Art + Design Program is to educate students in the visual arts and art education with a critical foundation that incorporates a strong background in art history and solid technical and conceptual skills, with an emphasis on the development of visual languages, tools for critical thinking, and the expression of creative visions.
The faculty prides itself on its exclusive focus on undergraduate education, as well as a strong commitment to students. Small class sizes ensure a creative atmosphere of personal exploration and discovery where each student receives individual attention. The faculty represent every area of emphasis within the program and remain current with their work by maintaining activity and visibility within their professional fields.
