Southeastern Criminal Justice Association
The Southeastern Criminal Justice Association (SCJA) is an organization open to all Southeastern students. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for students to broaden their understanding of different aspects of criminal justice by participating in interesting criminal justice-related activities. Upcoming events include "Dinner and a Movie" which will be a showing of the award-winning HBO documentary "Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills." Students who attend are encouraged to bring takeout dinner with them. Date/location/time T.B.A.
Also upcoming is the first meeting of the Homicide Reading and Discussion Group. For each meeting, anyone interested is encouraged to read about the criminal du jour (who will be selected ahead of time) and then meet to discuss that criminal's motivations, signature, psychological issues, childhood, etc. At our first meeting, we will be discussing Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, and I will be linking articles about him to the club's Myspace page in the next week. Date/location/time of group T.B.A.
Ms. Tara Mann, Esq. is the faculty sponsor.
