Reconnect Participates in National Recycling Day, Nov. 17, 2010
The event was by the student environmental sustainability club, Reconnect. They collected many bags and boxes of recyclables and many students brought recyclables out of their dorms and cars that they hadn't been able to bring themselves to send to the landfill. The event was also to raise awareness of the need for recycling on our campus. The students also wrote and made colorful "turkey" letters to Senator Mary Landrieu as an attempt to win her support for the "Spill Bill" which calls for stronger regulation on offshore oil and gas drilling activities.
