Community Music School in St. Tammany Parish
The
Southeastern Community Music School has a thriving program available at
the St. Tammany Parish Administrative Complex, located at 21454 Koop
Drive, Mandeville , LA 70471. The centerpiece of our curriculum there
is the Northshore String Program, directed by Ms. Jivka Jeleva. Ms.
Jeleva teaches and administers a thriving studio of approximately 45
violin students. Students in her course receive the very best private
and ensemble instruction, and routinely participate in a variety of
outside performances around the region. There is also the opportunity
for interested students to study other string instruments, including
the viola and cello.
More
recently, the CMS St. Tammany Center Program has expanded to include
instruction on a number of other instruments and voice, including
piano, guitar, and a selection of wind instruments. As with the string
program, our instructors include some of the best from Southeastern's
own music faculty. Students receiving lessons at this location are
given the same advantages as students at our principle Hammond
location, including opportunities to take supplemental theory classes,
and perform in CMS recitals and masterclasses. For more information, please call the CMS office (985-549-5502) or St. Tammany Complex (985-893-6251).
