Dana Meidinger Morse studied piano at
Southeastern Louisiana University under Dr. Thais Perkins and Dr. David Evenson. She
holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance (2001) from Southeastern Louisiana
University where she also earned the honors diploma in Liberal Studies. She then graduated
with a Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy (2004) from Louisiana State University
where she studied under Dr. Jennifer Hayghe (piano) and Dr. Victoria Johnson (pedagogy).
Mrs. Morse has been teaching private and group piano lessons since 1997 and joined
the Southeastern Department of Fine and Performing Arts in 2005 where she has taught
group piano, applied piano for vocalists, keyboard skills for pianists, and piano
pedagogy. She is a member of the Music Teacher's National Association, former LSU
student chapter president and LMTA vice-president, and has presented topics at state
conventions. She frequently adjudicates for local piano festivals and competitions.
Some of her other accomplishments include placing second in the DeBose International
Piano Competition (2000), earning the Phi Kappa Phi Award of Excellence (2002), and
the MTNA StAR award (2004).
