Mr. Cedric Bridges
Lecturer of Music
Mr. Bridges has earned degrees from both Southeastern
Louisiana and Tulane Universities. He has performed on stage with numerous companies,
including Des Moines Metro Opera, Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre, and the New Orleans
Opera in shows including, Puccini’s La Boheme, Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Sondheim’s
Sweeney Todd and Carlisle Floyd’s, The Passion of Jonathan Wade, which marked his
debut with Houston Grand Opera. He has also appeared with the Baton Rouge Symphony,
Louisiana Philharmonic, New Orleans Symphony chorus, and with the LSU Symphony Orchestra
and University choirs. He has appeared as tenor soloist for performances of both Mozart’s
and Verdi’s Requiems, as well as Handel’s Messiah. In 1991, Mr. Bridges was the local
finalist for the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions. He also keeps a
very active solo and recital performance schedule in addition to being a member of
the professional choir at Temple Sinai, Cantor at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church,
and the Associate Director of Vocal Activities at Covington High School in St. Tammany
Parish.
