Dr. Gina Anthon has taught music courses for elementary Gina Anthoneducation majors at Southeastern since 2002. She also teaches elementary music (PK - 4th grade) and choir at Holy Ghost School in Hammond.  An advocate for music in the schools she is active in many professional and community organizations including LMEA, ACDA, the Columbia Theatre and the Red Stick Chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association.

 

Dr. Anthon is a graduate of Louisiana State University (DMA in Vocal Performance and Voice Science), the University of Michigan (MM in Vocal Performance) and Southeastern Louisiana University (BMEd in Vocal Music Education). She has also studied at the Mozarteum, the Aspen Institute and has Levels I and II Orff Certification. 
     
Dr. Anthon has been a presenter at the Mountain Lake Colloquium, the National Association of Laboratory Schools Conference and at the Louisiana Music Educators Association State Convention. In 2011 she was recognized as an Educator of Distinction by the Baton Rouge Symphony.
