String Ensembles
Collaborations toward excellence
Chamber ensembles are a vital component of Southeastern students’ musical lives. Chamber music classes are designed to develop students' skills and musicianship. Performing in string quartets or mixed ensembles helps students to gain valuable experience and discover the techniques of performing with different instruments. Southeastern’s chamber ensembles perform regularly in various venues in and out of the state including New Orleans, Covington, Mandeville, Florida, Arkansas, and others. Two of the graduate string quartets have been finalists in national chamber music competitions. Performing in a chamber ensemble prepares students for their future endeavors in the world of professional orchestras and chamber ensembles, and as concert performers.
