Academic Advising
Management Department Advising Options:
Electronic Advising: If you feel comfortable not meeting with an advisor every semester to register you may remove your hold by following these steps*:
1. In your Blackboard, open the course "COBEAC: Dept of Management Electronic
Advising Center"
2. Read the guidelines for advising by clicking on “Guidelines for Advising” text in the left
frame (green)
3. Run an Academic Advising Report to determine which classes fit with your curriculum;
directions are given by clicking on “Academic Advising Report” text in the left frame
(green)
4. Take the “Approval to Register Quiz” to remove hold on advising; click on “Approval to
Register Quiz” text in the left frame (green)
5. Your hold will be removed upon successful completion of the “Approval to Register
Quiz”
See an advisor: If you would like to see an advisor or are not qualified to be electronically advised, you may remove your hold by following these steps:
1. Come in person, prior to your registration date and time, to the Management
Department office in Garrett Hall room 75 (middle hallway). Office hours are 7:45 to
11:45 am and 12:30 to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday
2. You will be provided with your current curriculum sheet and direct you to a faculty
member for advising
3. Meet with a faculty member about what courses you should take next (advising form
will be completed by student and faculty member)
4. Bring the signed advising form back to the Management Department office
5. Your hold will be removed
* Freshman, Students on Probation, and Students with Unpaid Balances will have to come into the department or see the controller's office to have their holds removed.
