Academic Advising

Advising Guidelines

All students who are in Kinesiology and Health Studies degree programs are required to be advised each semester. Students must do so to be eligible to register for classes. Students are strongly encouraged to preregister to ensure adequate course selection.

Freshmen should attend one of the group advising sessions. Dates and times for these sessions are posted each semester. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are assigned a faculty advisor/mentor and should plan to meet with these individuals for their advisement. On-line advising is used at the discretion of the students’ assigned advisor.

A list of the assigned advisors is posted in the KHS building. Students will also be emailed reminders about advising with the dates and times each semester. Students with questions or concerns can contact the KHS advising coordinator, Dr. Keri Diez, at (985-549-3800) or kdiez@selu.edu.
