The Margaret Waldrep Alford Memorial
Scholarship in Foreign Languages
$643 Annually ($321.50 Fall and Spring)
Criteria:
- Minimum high school or college GPA of 3.0.
- Must major in Foreign Languages.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Must be be a full-time student (12 hours).
- Retention: 8 semesters if criteria are met and 2.75 GPA is maintained.

French Community of Belgium scholarship
An all-expenses-paid scholarship to attend a four-week summer immersion program at the Université de Mons in Mons, Belgium during the summer.This scholarship is awarded to a high school student during the annual Foreign Language Festival Competition
Study Abroad Scholarships
The Foreign Languages and Literatures department has resources to aid foreign language students during their study abroad program
Student Government Association
Study Abroad Program Scholarships Awards:
Up to $75,600 to be awarded as follows:
- $1,250 awards to the 8 highest over-all applicants
- 10 $800 awards to top 10 graduate students
- 60 $800 awards to top senior and junior students
- 12 $800 awards to top sophomore students
- Recipients will be selected by the SGA on the basis of the criteria outlined here
The Erna Deiglmayr Endowed
Scholarship for the Study of French
Criteria:
- Overall 3.0 college GPA.
- Preference will given to a student majoring in French, however, a student with a French minor will be considered.
- Students must have taken a minimum of 4 semesters of French.
- Students must be of good moral character.
- Retention: 6 semesters if all criteria are met and 3.0 GPA is maintained.
