International Foreign Language Honor Society
2009
On Thursday, March 19 the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures inducted a new group of students into Zeta Alpha Chapter of Phi Sigma Iota, International Foreign Language Honor Society. This is the fifth time the Department recognizes the outstanding abilities of its students. This year inductees are students who major or minor in Spanish, French, and German. The initiation ceremony took place in the restaurant Michabelle and was presided over by Dr. Lucia Harrison, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Dr. Agnieszka Gutthy, PSI faculty advisor. This year we were honored by the presence of a distinguished guest, Mr. Antonio Matarredona,
Education Advisor from the Embassy of Spain.
Students invited to join the Society were Kasey Santanen, Veronica Wills, Stephanie Charboneau, Teryn Ivey-Elam, Samantha Sigers, Rachel Carazo, Julie McVean Foret, Hannah Locke, Janice Fan, Joshua Lincecum, Kendall Kyzar, Taylor Richardson, and Vanessa Thibodeaux.
