Graduate Studies in English
An MA in English remains one of the best professional degrees for a wide variety of opportunities in Louisiana and the nation. This MA prepares students for teaching at the college level or doctoral study, provides graduate instruction in theory, methods, and content for teachers in grades 6-12, trains students in creative, critical, and professional writing, develops skills for publishing, public relations, business, and law. The program houses an outstanding graduate faculty, the University Writing Center, the National Writing Project, and two major literary journals.
