Our Mission and Vision
The mission of the Family and Consumer Sciences program is to empower individuals, strengthen families, and enable communities. Our vision is that the FCS program will provide a dynamic curriculum that provides the employment preparation and personal development required for today’s career opportunities and family culture.

The FCS degree offers 3 dynamic concentration areas that help fulfill our mission and strengthen employment opportunities for students based on their professional interests. The concentrations areas include:
We also offer a separate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education for those who want to teach in primary and secondary schools.
Student Organization
We encourage all of our majors to be involved in the Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. SAFCS is the student led affiliate of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
The Family and Consumer Sciences program at Southeastern is nationally accredited through the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Council for Accreditation.
