Classroom and field exercises are used to emphasize critical thinking and to facilitate a discovery-learning approach that will enable students to recognize and appreciate the practical aspects of scientific principles.

Assist faculty and graduate students in constructing experimental designs, analyzing data, and creating graphic illustrations for research projects associated with Southeastern Louisiana University Wetlands Restoration Lab. Maintain greenhouse research facility for propagating and growing wetland species used in various experiments and wetland creation projects.

  • Laboratory Instructor of Zoology 1994-1996 Prepare and implement interactive experiments and activities that reinforce basic zoological principles and illustrate the practical aspects of science covered in zoology lectures.
  • Class and Field Assistant for Project CYPRESS. 1995-1996

Assisted in leading 30 k-12 teachers through 5 weeks of intense course work (i. e. wetlands ecology, plant taxonomy, and applied biostatistics) and several field projects. Responsible for procuring materials necessary for constructing numerous experiments used in illustrating a multidisciplinary approach to teaching science. Responsibilities also included creating and conducting scientific experiments as well as analyzing and interpreting data.
