Southeastern's Non-Master's Degree/Certification Only Program in Secondary Education (Grades 6-12)
If you are a college graduate that didn’t major in education and would like to become a certified teacher, Southeastern offers you the opportunity to return to school and complete the coursework. Your program of study includes 18 hours of education courses and up to 9 hours of content-specific courses, (e.g., math, English, chemistry . . .). The completion of one semester of student teaching is also a part of your program. However, if you are employed as a teacher in the content area in which you are working to receive certification, you may apply to have a two-semester internship substituted for the student teaching experience.
