Educational Technology Facilitation
Certification endorsement in Educational Technology Facilitation will prepare teachers whose role it is to assist other teachers in their use of technology to support student learning, communications, and productivity in the classroom. The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) approved requirements are listed below.
- A valid Type B or Level 2 Louisiana Teaching Certificate*
- A minimum of 9 semester hours of graduate credit in educational technology including:
ETEC 644 Design and Development of Instructional Software for the
Elementary and Secondary School3 semester hours ETEC 650 Educational Telecommunications (Networking and the Internet) 3 semester hours ETEC 660 Educational Technology Leadership for Change 3 semester hours
- Persons who have met requirements 1 and 2 may be issued an Educational Technology
Facilitation certification endorsement.
- Certified teachers who have served as a facilitator of educational technology at the
building level may petition the Division of Teacher Certification and Higher Education
to be granted an Educational Technology Facilitation endorsement if they met one of
the following qualifications:
- Hold certification in computer literacy and have earned an additional six semester
hours in educational technology, and have served as a facilitator of educational technology
at the school, district, regional, or state level successfully for the past three
years as verified by the employment authority.

- Have served as a facilitator of educational technology at the school, district, regional, or state level successfully for the past five years as verified by the employing authority
- Hold certification in computer literacy and have earned an additional six semester
hours in educational technology, and have served as a facilitator of educational technology
at the school, district, regional, or state level successfully for the past three
years as verified by the employment authority.
* Requires three years of teaching experience.
