Certification Programs
ALTERNATE CERTIFICATION
Southeastern’s alternate certification programs are designed for individuals who hold a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in another field and who seek to qualify for state teacher certification. Depending upon the grade level selected, individuals may obtain a master’s degree or complete a certification-only program. The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) prepares teachers for certification in Grades 1-5. The Certification-Only Alternate Program prepares teachers for certification in grades K-12, 6-12, or Birth-Age 5.
