Rita Bertolino (’78, ’96) knew her daughter, Rachel Bourgeois, would love Southeastern – but she didn’t push. She took her to football games, told her how fun it was to live on campus, be in a sorority, dance with the Lionettes, work at the Lion’s Roar. Although Rachel looked at other colleges, “I knew she would come back to the Green and Gold,” said Rita. A long-time Norco Elementary K-3 principal and now a Reading Recovery lead teacher, Rita shows her own Southeastern spirit as secretary of the Alumni Association and a strong proponent of the teacher education program. “I finally applied … and she was right,” said Rachel. “The scholarships, the new dorms, Orientation – it all sealed the deal.”
An organizational communication major, Rachel relishes the leadership lessons and deep friendships she’s formed through her sorority (and her mom's) Alpha Sigma Tau. She loved being an Orientation Leader and is as involved as Rita was in campus life. Says her proud mom, “I didn’t think anyone could love Southeastern as much as I, but she’s just about proved me wrong.”

Paying for College – Financial aid and scholarship opportunities
There is no question that a college education can be expensive. At Southeastern, we have made paying for college easy by streamlining our scholarship process with guaranteed four-year scholarship packages for beginning freshmen who qualify based on their ACT scores and high school grade point averages. Tuition and Fees – How much will it cost
Southeastern students pay tuition according to the number of semester hours scheduled (including courses taken for audit). Additional charges, such as textbook rental fees, laboratory fees, ID fees, fines (parking, books, etc.), housing, meals and vehicle registration, will appear on the fee statement if applicable. Any credits, such as scholarships and other types of financial aid, as well as prior tuition and fee payments, also appear on the fee statement, with a net balance due. More>>
