I live in Livingston Hall, which is a 24-hour “quiet” residence hall. I like it really well, because it’s not a hassle to try to study. Gumbo Ya Ya and Strawberry Jubilee – Hungry……Why Wait?
Hungry? The Campus Activities Board (CAB) sponsors Gumbo Ya Ya in the Fall where students are treated to gumbo, French bread, and cake in the Student Union Park. CAB also sponsors Strawberry Jubilee in the spring where students are served red beans & rice, French bread, and a delicious strawberry cake. Southeastern Star – So You Think You Can Sing?
Can you sing? Southeastern Star is the Campus Activities Board’s (CAB) own version of “American Idol.” Eight contestants are chosen by audition to compete for the “star” title. The competition lasts for four rounds. At the end of each round, two contestants are voted off, and the winner of Southeastern Star receives a cash prize and represents CAB at various campus events. Students are invited to watch the competition and vote for their favorite contestant. More>>
Southeastern Music Fest – Country, hip-hop, and rock & roll
Do you like good music? Then you are in for a musical treat each spring as the Campus Activities Board presents Southeastern Music Fest. Different musical acts with a variety of styles play in an outdoor music festival. The event is free and open to Southeastern students, faculty, and staff. More>>
KSLU
KSLU is Southeastern's regional public radio station. Most of the on-air staff are communication majors who get hands-on training to become future broadcast leaders. Student staff members are responsible for on-air shifts, production, event appearances, sports broadcasts and many other radio-related projects. KSLU hires student workers every semester.
